Eight people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving at road sobriety checkpoints last night.

The Roads Policing Unit, who were out in force in Devonshire, Pembroke and Paget, also ticketed several drivers for unlicensed vehicles and licence plate offences.

One more driver was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after a crash on South Road, Warwick, and another was arrested for having care and control of a vehicle while under the influence.

Roadside sobriety checkpoints in the three parishes will be in place again this evening.
