Sobriety checkpoints will be in effect over the Cup Match holiday.

A notice in the Official Gazette said roadside sobriety checkpoints will be in place in eight of the island’s parishes between August 1 and 4.

St George’s, Hamilton Parish, Smith’s, Devonshire, Pembroke, Paget, Warwick and Southampton will be covered, with Sandys the only parish left out.

Cup Match is in St George’s this year.
