A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving tonight after his car crashed and injured his passenger.
Police said the 63-year-old driver of the car lost control on South Road, Paget and went down an embankment near public entrance to Elbow Beach.
The driver and passenger were helped out of the car by a passer-by.
A police spokesman said the passenger was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The crash happened about 7.40pm.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
