A male motorcycle rider was stable in the Intensive Care Unit yesterday after a serious crash in Warwick.

The 26-year-old, from Sandys, sustained head and facial wounds in the two-vehicle collision on St Mary’s Road, near the junction with Hillview Road, on Tuesday.

It appeared that a car and a motorbike were travelling in opposite directions when the crash happened at about 9.15pm.

The car driver, said to be a 28-year-old Southampton man, was not hurt.

Both vehicles were damaged. Traffic diversions were in place for about three hours while the scene was processed.
