A 29-year-old Pembroke man is in serious condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle crash early this morning.

At about 1.45am, it was reported that a collision occurred between the man, on a motorcycle, and a car near the traffic lights at the junction of Cedar Avenue, St John’s Road and Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke.

A police spokesman said: “Details remain limited at this time. However, it is understood that the rider involved was transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment of head injuries and serious injuries to both legs.

“The driver of the car, said to be a 34-year-old Hamilton Parish man, has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.”

Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately four hours while the scene was processed.
