An 18-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car in the early hours of this morning.

The victim, a St George’s man, was in the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after the collision on Middle Road, Warwick, near Sleepy Hollow Lane, at about 2.45am.

His condition was described as stable at about 1pm.

A 68-year-old Paget man who was driving the car also received hospital treatment for less serious injuries but has been discharged.

A 27-year-old Warwick man and 19-year-old Devonshire man who were passengers in the car were not hurt.

Police said the motorcyclist was travelling west when he crashed with the car which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Traffic diversions were in place for about three hours while officers dealt with the scene.
