A man died last night after he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a wall.
Police said the incident happened on Harbour Road in Paget, near Highwood Lane, at about 11.20pm.
A spokesman said it appeared the rider was travelling on Harbour Road when he lost control of the bike.
The man was taken to hospital but police later confirmed he lost his life.
It was the first road fatality of 2019.
Police said further information about the rider would not be provided until next of kin were notified.
The road was cordoned off while officers worked at the scene.
