Motorists are being urged to drive with caution after a sink hole opened up in North Shore Road near Shelly Bay.
This afternoon, the Ministry of Public Works was undertaking repairs on the hole, which is about a foot wide.
Police media relations manager Dwayne Caines said: There presently a sink hole in the road on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish on the Shelly Bay stretch.
Please note there are cones around the area and we are asking the motoring public to be mindful when driving in the area.
A Ministry of Public of Works spokeswoman also advised caution.
