A man was treated in the intensive care unit yesterday after his motorcycle crashed in Pembroke, police said.

The single-vehicle incident happened at the junction of North Shore Road and Black Watch Pass at about 2.50am.

A police spokesman said it was thought that the rider, a 37-year-old from Devonshire, was travelling east on North Shore Road and hit the roundabout.

The man suffered injuries to his chest, leg and hands. The police spokesman said: “A member of the public came across the crash and called for assistance.”

The motorcyclist was treated by emergency medical technicians before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment and at last check had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
