A motorcyclist was fined almost $1,000 after he admitted two speeding offences.

The court heard that Jahkhari Hollis, 21, was clocked by police at 91km/h, or 56mph, on Middle Road, Southampton, on May 23.

He was caught again a week later riding at 65km/h.

The legal speed limit is 35km/h.

Hollis, who admitted both offences, told the court: “I was trying to get home.”

Magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined Hollis $610 for the 91km/h speeding charge and $350 for the 65km/h speeding charge.
