A man who collided with an ambulance and later admitted drink-driving was banned from the roads yesterday.
Magistrates Court heard that police were alerted to a collision between a motorcycle and an ambulance on Middle Road in Southampton.
Officers spoke to Antoine Russell, 51, the motorcycle rider, at the scene.
He admitted he had been drinking and was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Russell was taken to Hamilton Police Station for a breath test.
The test showed that he had 129.8 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80mg/100ml.
The incident took place on December 14 last year. Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe fined Russell, from Hamilton Parish, $1,000.
Mr Wolffe further banned Mr Russell from the roads for 18 months.
He was ordered to pay the fine by February 28.
