A man who crashed his car into a wall more than six years ago admitted drink-driving yesterday.
Deon Pachai, 42, from St Georges, pleaded guilty to impaired driving in Magistrates Court.
Police attended a call for a crash on Wellington Street, in St Georges, on December 13, 2013.
At the scene, they found a car with extensive damage to its left side and its airbags deployed.
Rock from the wall it struck was scattered in the road.
The court heard that police had seen Pachai at a local bar a short time before the crash.
He later admitted that he was the driver of the crashed car.
Pachai told police: I was scared, so I left.
Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe fined Pachai $1,000 and disqualified him from driving for 18 months.
