A motorcyclist remained in a stable condition in hospital today after a crash with a truck.

The 20-year-old Smith’s man suffered a serious leg injury in the collision at the junction of Middle Road and Verdmont Road, Smith’s at about 11.10am yesterday.

Police said this morning that at the last check he was receiving medical care at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A police spokesman added that the crash happened as the truck driver turned on to Verdmont Road.

The truck driver, a 70-year-old Devonshire man, was not hurt.

The motorcycle involved was damaged, but the truck was not.

Traffic diversions were in place for about three hours while the scene was processed.
