Two men were injured in a serious crash that took place on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s early yesterday.

The two-vehicle collision in the Town Hill Road area at about 3.30am left a 22-year-old male bike rider with internal injuries.

Police said a taxi and a motorcyclist with a passenger were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The injured rider, from Smith’s, and the pillion passenger, a 21-year-old man, were taken to hospital.

A police spokesman said the rider was likely to be flown overseas for treatment, while the passenger sustained a leg injury.

The taxi driver was unhurt.

Also yesterday, a female visitor was taken to hospital with head injuries after a crash on South Road in Southampton.

The rental scooter crashed at about 3pm near the Fairmont Southampton.
