A woman who crashed her car into a ditch on Sunday has been banned from driving for 18 months.

Jenae Rodrigues was arrested early that morning after police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Ord Road in Warwick.

The court heard Rodriques was driving south on the road when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch and nearby bushes.

When police arrived, she was sitting on a nearby staircase.

She told officers she had two glasses of wine and agreed to provide breath samples, which showed she had 197 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood — more than double the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe fined Rodrigues $1,200, and banned her from the road for 18 months.

She was one of three people banned from the road for drinking and driving offences.

Kingsley Simons, 67, was arrested after a two-vehicle collision near the junction of South Road and Camp Road in Warwick on the afternoon of November 2.

Police spoke to Simons, who had been driving a car involved in the collision, and noticed his eyes were glazed and he smelled of alcohol.

He refused to give police a breath sample, saying: “I’m not going to pass.”

Mr Wolffe fined Simons $800 and banned him from driving for one year.

Jamie Ford, 38, admitted driving while over the legal blood alcohol limit in an incident on October 20.

The court heard the Warwick resident was stopped by police on South Road in Paget as part of roadside sobriety tests.

Ford admitted he had been drinking and failed a sobriety test.

He later provided a breath sample, which showed he had 101 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Ford apologised for his actions and explained that he had tried to drink responsibly but “messed up”.

Mr Wolffe fined him $1,200 and banned him from the road for 18 months.
