A teenager was seriously injured yesterday in a jet ski accident off Somerset Bridge after he struck the anchor of a moored yacht, according to police.

The 17-year-old local male hit the vessel’s stern anchor near Robinson’s Marina at about 6pm, and was brought to shore by the captain of the yacht.

He was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he was today reported to be in critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries continue, and witnesses are asked to call Constable Joshua Boden at the Marine Unit on 247-1770.
