A man struck by a motorcycle in a hit-and-run in the City of Hamilton yesterday continues to recover in hospital.

The 53-year-old pedestrian was struck on Parliament Street, near the junction with Church Street, at about 1am.

A police spokesman said that at last check this morning the man was in stable condition on a general ward.

The spokesman added that the motorcyclist who fled the scene had committed a “callous act”.

The motorcycle involved is described as a blue, “step-through type” with front-end damage.
