A 39-year-old woman was banned from the roads for 18 months yesterday after she admitted a New Year’s Day drink-driving charge.

Magistrates’ Court heard that Dawn Trott, from Paget, was found to be almost double the legal alcohol limit.

Trott was stopped by police on Ord Road in Warwick at about 5.15am on January 1 after her car was seen to twice cross the centre line.

Trott admitted to officers that she had been drinking.

A later breath test showed 158 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80mg/100ml.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe fined Trott $1,000 and disqualified her from driving for 18 months.
