Two motorcyclists were treated in hospital after a crash in Paget this morning.

A police spokesman said a Hamilton Parish man, 61, and a Hamilton Parish woman, 28, were both in a stable condition on a general ward this evening.

The crash happened on South Road near the junction with Southcote Road around 5am.

The spokesman said: “It appears that the two motorcyclists were travelling in opposite directions along South Road when the collision occurred.

“The riders, believed to be a 61-year-old Hamilton Parish man and a 28-year-old Hamilton Parish woman, were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries.

“At last check Saturday evening, both were said to be listed in stable condition on a general ward.”

Both motorcycles were damaged and traffic was diverted away from the area for about two hours while the scene was processed.
