A teenage motorcyclist suffered serious cuts to his neck after riding into string from a kite.

The 16-year-old victim also suffered cuts and bruises to his right hand, right leg and right foot when he crashed his bike in Pembroke on Thursday, shortly after 6.30pm.

He was helped at the scene by the person who flew the kite and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to his injuries. He was later discharged from hospital.

The incident happened on Dutton Avenue, near to its junction with North Street.
