A motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a car at a notorious junction in Devonshire yesterday.

The 35-year-old Pembroke man was travelling towards Hamilton along Middle Road at about 7.30am when he collided with a car travelling the other way, which attempted to turn on to Tee Street. He was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where his injuries were described as not life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported but both vehicles involved were damaged and the incident led to traffic delays in the area.

Residents and businesses near the junction have long called for safety measures to tackle its reputation as one of the island’s worst accident spots.

Witnesses should call police on 295-0011.
