A Bermuda resident has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving in Jamaica after a car crash left two pedestrians dead.

Clinton Webb is alleged to have lost control of his grey Nissan in St James Parish in the north-west of the island and hit two pedestrians. The Jamaica Constabulary Force said Rose Marie Daley and Gladstone Brown died of their injuries.

Police said the crash happened on a section of the Lilliput main road at about 8.15pm on Saturday. A JCF spokesman said the car was travelling from Falmouth, on the island’s north coast, towards the holiday town of Montego Bay.

Ms Daley, also known as Miss Pepsi, and Mr Brown, nicknamed Mr Jango, are understood to have been on a sidewalk when they were hit.

Ms Daley and Mr Brown were pronounced dead by doctors. Mr Webb, 54, who has a Hamilton Parish address, was treated in hospital and later arrested. The JCF spokesman confirmed that Mr Webb had been charged in connection with the incident, but a court date had not been set.
